Awarding of the Diplôme d’Honneur title by FEBS to Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry Manolis G. Fragoulis

Emeritus Professor of Biochemistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Manolis G. Fragoulis, has been awarded the prestigious Diplôme d’Honneur by the Executive Committee of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), following a unanimous decision. This distinction represents the highest honor conferred by FEBS.

Professor Fragoulis is the first Greek biochemist to receive this award. In a letter addressed to the President of the FEBS Board, he expressed his deep appreciation, noting that this recognition largely reflects the longstanding trust and responsibility entrusted to him through his service in key representative roles within the Federation.

In addition to his distinguished academic career, Professor Fragoulis is a full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and has served as Secretary General for Research and Technology in Greece, contributing significantly to national and European scientific development.

The award ceremony, during which the honorary diploma and commemorative plaque will be presented, will take place at the official opening of the FEBS Annual Conference in Maastricht on July 4.
