Welcome to the Hellenic Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
The Hellenic Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (HSBMB) was founded in 1971 as the Hellenic Society for Biochemistry and Biophysics (HSBB) and was the initiative of 23 scientists working in the field of biochemistry or biophysics. HSBMB is the representation of the Greek Biochemists and Molecular Biologists in international organizations such as the IUBMB (International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) and FEBS (Federation of European Biochemical Societies)

Hellenic Matrix Biology
Our Scope
HMBS supports research in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Medicine, Biotechnology, and Clinical Chemistry related to the extracellular matrix. It creates a dynamic environment for scientific communication, collaboration, and the development of conceptual research networks.
Research Focus
The Section promotes high-level research on the composition, structure, and function of extracellular matrix macromolecules. It encourages studies on their role in normal cellular processes and in the development of human diseases.
